ITV has postponed the launch of a timeshift service of ITV1 "until further notice."

ITV1 +1 had been seen testing on Sky Digital ahead of a proposed 1 October launch. However, concerns over the Contract Rights Renewal mechanism are believed to have forced the broadcaster to postpone the launch. The Contract Rights Renewal mecnahism is a device which seeks to protect media buyers from any possibility of ITV beocming too dominant within the commercial television marketplace.
