The BBC is said to be looking showing EastEnders five times per week.
Rumours of an extra episode have been doing the rounds for a while but it is understood that the BBC is now actively looking at this.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "It is no secret that we are currently examining the possibility of expanding from four to five episodes of EastEnders per week but any decision is still a long way off."
