Five is to bring back the 1980s daytime quizshow Going For Gold. The programme will feature the same rounds as before but will not feature any European contestants. Former ITN newsreader John Suchet will be the host.

Five has ordered a 50 episode run and if deemed successful it would be commissioned as the regular  replacement to Brainteaser which was taken off air last year following a phone-in scandel.

The programme will run for 60 minutes beginning at 12.45pm. Later at 2.50pm, a viewer will get the chance to take on a former champion for a cash prize in Going For Gold Extra.

Going For Gold originally aired as part of BBC1's daytime schedule and was presented by Henry Kelly. It was axed in 1996.
