Radio 2 is to introduce a jazz show to its early evening line-up.

The show, to be hosted by Jamie Cullum, will broadcast on Tuesday evenings between 7 and 8pm, in the slot currently occupied by Desmond Carrington. Desmond will move to Friday evenings with Friday Night Is Music Night starting 30 minutes later.

The retimed Friday Night Is Music Night means that Listen To The Band will not have a place in the schedule as things stand and no mention of any new slot for the programme was made in the press release. However, a spokesman told mediaguardian that a new slot for Listen To The Band will be announced shortly.

The changes will start at the beginning of April.
