A channel has appeared on Freesat with information on parental controls ahead of the inclusion of "Adult" genre channels. The channel is on EPG no. 869 and labelled "READ ME". It displays a screen with the following info:

Parental Controls

Channels using adult themes to promote premium rate telephone services will soon be added to this genre.

Freesat is in the process of updating your receiver so that Parental Controls can be used to hide these channels. Simple instructions will be made available on both this page and on the Freesat website before the channels launch.

Please re-visit ths page from 1st December for further information on how to set up Parental Controls.

An Adult labelled section to the genre list in the guide has also appeared with the READ ME channel in it.

I am surprised that you have no respect for what was a clean channel . Don't you think there is enough rubbish on TV without adding to it.You should publish the names of the people who make a living from these immoral programs Parents would'nt need control facilities

Bean  - Still Waiting.   | 11-12-2009 20:22:16 I for one cant wait until they add adult channels, i used to watch babecast etc on sky but have nothing like that on freesat, to the guy above acting all high and mighty, GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE and stop bitchin, if you dont wanna see it then dont go onto the channel, simple as that, dont ruin it for the rest of us!
