ESPN has signed a carriage agreement with Top Up TV.

The subscription cost will be £9.99 per month from September onwards as the provider plans to offer the channel for free during August.

Top Up TV's chairman David Chance said: "I am very pleased that we have been able to conclude this agreement to make ESPN, including live Barclays Premier League football matches, available on the Freeview platform.

"We are looking forward to working together to bring his exciting new channel to the many Freeview homes who will enjoy the fantastic range of live and exclusive sports that will be featured on ESPN."

The channel launched yesterday on Virgin Media and Sky Digital. A deal is expected to be signed very soon with BT Vision, which currently offers ESPN America.
