A lunchtime alteration to Freeview broadcasts means all digital terrestrial receivers will need to be retuned next Wednesday to continue seeing programming.
All Freeview viewers (including those watching via BT Vision or Top Up TV) will need to rescan for channels on Wednesday 30th September as technical changes are made to broadcasts allowing Five to reach an extra half-million homes from next week. The changes also prepare for Freeview HD services in due course. Channel numbers are also set for a slight reshuffle, with adult-oriented services moving into the 90s away from entertainment services, making way for Price Drop TV to move up to 37 and new service Quest on 38. Viewers who receive transmissions from relay transmitters are also set to lose ITV3 and ITV4 in the changes. On screen messages will appear over the next week whilst watching BBC and ITV on Freeview.
