As from 1 July, The Community Channel will only be available on Freeview areas which have gone through digtal switchover. The channel had previously been available in all areas of the country on Freeview and will no longer be available in those areas which have not gone through digital switchover. The channel will return to those areas after switchover has taken place.

Mark Dodd, Digital Media Director at Media Trust, said: “This is a hugely supportive partnership and offer from Arqiva [the transmission company that operates the commercial Freeview multiplexes] and I am delighted that the channel will now be able to continue its support of charitable and community focused campaigns for the foreseeable future, whilst delivering entertaining, inspiring and thought provoking programming to our steadily increasing audience of viewers, who have supported us over the past 10 years since our launch.”
