Carphone Warehouse to buy Tiscali PDF Print E-mail

Carphone Warehouse has announced that it is to purchase Tiscali UK. Carphone will purchase the company for £236 million and the deal will make Carphone the number one in the UK in terms of broadband customers due to its ownership of TalkTalk and AOL UK.

The deal is expected to become a done deal by the end of June.

Tiscali currently has debts of more than half a blillion pounds and had been in talks with BSkyB which would have given Sky an IPTV route to further extend its customer base.
