Sky Sports has retained the rights to the NFL.

The new deal, which runs for the next three seasons, ensures that Sky continues its coverage of top flight American Football until 2012.

Under the deal, Sky will show two games on Sunday evenings and later in ther season, games played on Thursday and Saturday nights.

However, Sky does not have a monopoly on NFL coverage as Five will show the Sunday Night Football match each Sunday night at 1am.
