Ofcom has suggested that all of the UK's estimated 60 million television sets are now converted to digital.
Nine out of ten of all homes are now viewing digital TV with 89.8% of main TV sets being digital ready. This will now have topped 90% as the Ofcom report covers the second quarter of 2009.
The increase in all TVs having digital capabilities, either via a set-top box of digital televisions, is due to a 15% year-on-year rise of digital sets receiving digital. Digital switchover continues apace with the south west and most of south Wales having gone digital. November will see the entire north west going through digital switchover - the first major area of the Uk to have its analogue signal switched off.
