Shaun Keaveney is to replace Phill Jupitas as BBC 6 Music's breakfast presenter. This is the headline change of a new schedule which will launch on 2 April.

Shaun moves from the late show slot which will be filled by George Lamb.

Other changes are the introduction of three new shows. Indie DJ outfit The Queens Of Noize have been signed up to host a new Saturday afternoon show featuring interviews with upcoming bands and exclusive sessions. Also, DJ, musician and filmmaker Don Letts is hosting a 60 minute Friday night show and lead singer of indie band Elbow, Guy Garvey is hosting a new Sunday evening programme.

Lesley Douglas, Controller, Radio 2 and 6 Music, says: "I have long admired Shaun Keaveny – his irreverence, humour and love of music will make him the perfect new breakfast show presenter as we move 6 Music into its sixth year.  "He is one of those rare broadcasting talents who is appointment listening.

"Phill Jupitus is, of course, a hard act to follow. Phill's commitment and passion has been key in building 6 Music's audience and reputation.  I will miss his laid back humour in the morning – but I look forward to welcoming him back to 6 Music at some point in the future when he has caught up on his sleep!"
